3:22PM - {so whats it like to start life all over... }

Hey, kids!

Congrats to everyone who graduated! I went, and cheered you all on. Definetely loved how the speaker (can't recall the man's name) claimed he wasn't going to say much, then proceeded to ramble for awhile.

Got some carnival goodness coming up, with built-in explosives. Fun, ne?

WINDSOR LOCKS FIREMEN'S CARNIVAL -- July 7th, 8th, 9th --> Believe the fireworks are the 7th (tonight). I'm going to it tonight, anyone else in?

SUFFIELD FIREMEN'S CARNIVAL -- July 14th, 15th, 16th --> Fireworks are the 15th at 9:30. It is a fact of life that I'm at least going to see the fireworks, then rushing to Barnes & Noble afterwards.

And, for the nerdy-section..
HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE by J. K. Rowling -- July 16th --> I'm going at midnight to get it from Barnes & Noble. If anyone else is going, then feel free to join my friend and I for a game of chess. We're going directly after the SFC-fireworks, and will be there for a good two hours, playing chess.

Hope you're all having a great summer, and hope to see some of you at the Suffield Firemen's Carnival!
P.S.: If you're a Star Wars fan, or just in need of some laughs, check out iharthdarth. It is good stuff XD

7:12PM - { keep your head up straight... }

It is the last week of school!

Yearbook Picnic today, then finals the rest of the week.
You lucky duck Seniors are exempt if you have "A"s. If they did the same for Juniors, I'd probably only be taking three exams.

Just wanted to see how everyone is, and wish you all luck in your finals!
I'll see you all at graduation on Saturday -- the majority of my friends are Seniors, so I'm going to see them off.

Have a good last week! XD

6:24AM - so here i go, i'm back again..

Hey, all! Before I do the usual - upcoming events - has anyone here ever played the game Mau? I want to find someone who knows the game well to play with.

AP TESTS - Ah, AP tests! What fun! Take the class, then get forced to pay $82 for a test that you may not even pass to possibly get college credit. Fun. Is anyone else taking them? Has anyone here taken them? I'm taking the U.S. History one myself on the 6th, and I know sorrowneptune is taking the Psychology one. Anyone else?

SAT TEST - Possibly just me, but, because god hates me, the SAT is May 7th, of course it is the day after my AP test. Wee. Am I the only one here still taking them, or will anyone else be taking that one? It is the new one, complete with 2400 points, and essay, but sans analogies, which I was good at.

PROM - The so-called "event of the season". May 20th - Chez Josef - and apparently tickets are $50. Again. Are any other of you going? Have you made all your plans yet? Mine are basically done, save for hemming ye olde prom dress and figuring out what in the world to do with my hair.

Glad to see everyone is more-or-less posting, and that you all seem to be doing fine.
For everyone taking AP or SAT or ACT - GOOD LUCK!
For everyone going to Prom - See ya there!

2:17PM - So Who Here Likes To Write?

I don't know about you guys, but I love to write poetry and I started a livejournal community where people can post their own poetry and people can post reviews. Some people have already joined and are now addicted to writing poems!
We really need members to get the community started and running like it should.
If you already are a livejournal user, all you need to do is go to the site and join -- no approval needed! If you don't have one, you can sign up for free. Also, the community is free of charge!
C'mon guys, help out a fellow Suffield-er!

6:03PM - What stage are you???

I felt this was worth sharing with everyone...

Stages of LiveJournal, by way of passengerpigeon

Stages of LiveJournal

LiveJournals, you see, change in clearly defined ways which correlate to your "Friends" and "Friends of" numbers.

Stage one: Larval
Friends: 0-20
Friends of: 0-10
This stage begins at the moment you make your first awkward post talking about the fact that you're talking to the universe about your private thoughts. Everybody goes through this; it's when you're still not sure whether the thought of a LiveJournal is a real thought. People who abandon LJ generally abandon it in this stage.
If, however, you don't give up, eventually you will grow accustomed to the mechanics and idea of LiveJournals, and your counters will grow in response as your posts adapt to their environment. This leads to...

Stage two: Representational
Friends: 10-40
Friends of: 5-30
At this point your journal is still mostly a running description of your life, talking about the things you're talking about, afraid of the things you're afraid of, and such like. It's a journal in the clearest sense of the word.
This is an easy stage to stop in; it's comfortable, like having five to thirty pen pals. Generally it ends only when one decides, typically in an act inspired by the examples of friends in later LJ stages, to deliberately stylize and color the content of one's journal, adding the element of art to life. This necessitates a rather larger commitment to LiveJournal, inasmuch at it becomes a simultaneous medium and audience, and a resulting dramatic increase in your counters:

Stage three: Formal operational
Friends: 25-60
Friends of: 20-45
The art journal. These are always exciting and fun; the work done is generally superior, the audience generally enthralled, and the artist generally feels a strong sense of connection with the art; after all, it's their life, right? Or at least it's grown out of it. During this time a user can establish idioms, self-perceptions and styles of design that may last indefinitely.
This is a great stage; sadly, it can rarely last too long, because art attracts observers. The committed LiveJournalist (as well they should be committed to get to this point) will gain truly abstract numbers of friends, leading inevitably to a point where checking one's friends page can be done neither weekly nor daily but even hourly if one is not to devour immense quantities of writing in single sittings.

Stage four: Subnormal
Friends: 40-90
Friends of: 40-80
LiveJournal's got under your skin. By this point you almost certainly have a paid account, you post once every fifteen minutes and spend fourteen of the next fifteen writing, and you display in every other characteristic and action a severe dependency on online communities. This can be bad. But, as long as you keep to your fix it's probably safe enough, although other activities may suffer. Posts in this section generally rely and expand on the character established in previous stages, though there is usually a wild subliminal understanding of the horror of the addiction buried in the subtexts of even the shortest posts.
This is another common stopping place, although it's exhausting to maintain. With proper access to the Internet, though, it can be managed; however, if the counters grow much larger, you may reach a point where not even your entire wealth of spare time will suffice to read everything you need to read to keep abreast. At this point one last threshold is crossed.

Stage five: Final
Friends: 80 and up, often to ridiculous numbers
Friends of: 70 and so on
Once one reaches acceptance of their incapacity to deal with the LiveJournal they so timidly created four stages ago, a certain attitude of detachment can be noted in their posts. Freed of the daemon sucking away their time, they may show new interests in many things, take up new hobbies, or finish pet projects; however, nobody will ever know about it, because they won't talk about anything much on LiveJournal any more, or if they do, they'll be quite aware of how little it really matters. Whether or not any escape is possible from this stage is not known.

And of course there will always be exceptions.

I think that I was Formal Operational at one point but due to my inactivity on LJ because of school and my busy life I have went back to Representational stage because I have seemed to have lost a lot of LJ friends and I may be doing an LJ cut because I like my LJ friends to be somewhat active but in the past I might have even been described as being in the Subnormal stage.

What stage are you?

11:31AM - conversations alone...

ITS SPRING!!

Today is the first day of Spring, and, irony of ironies, it is suppose to snow/rain tonight, giving us a "slushy accumulation".
Easter is a week from today, and we get this Friday off from school. Then again, we have a week off from school coming up for April 18th through the 22nd, which should be fun.

Anyone have anything fun planned for Easter?
As to my family, I honestly have no idea what we're doing for Easter, but hopefully it'll be entertaining.

4:28PM - Exotica?

As an artist of Suffield High School, I thought I should post this, since it's been bothering me for awhile now.

The photography class last half was allowed to place their best pictures in the display cases in the High School. Unlike the works of Lisa Muscarella, Samantha Ridley, and Sara Shea, the display case in the 600s hallway, put together by Janna Haig and Chris Bromson, was mainly full of...how shall I put this...promiscuous photography. They call it 'exotica,' a mixture of the terms 'exotic' and 'erotica.' This display people with their faces painted, Chris Bromson with no shirt on, and a group of senior girls groping Chris Bromson's body, along with other wild photography.

Mrs. Peerless, the art teacher, says "Some people have found it offensive...but it's still art...I think..."

And there has been a claim that some photos were taken down courtesy of Mr. Jones and other that were a bit more suitable were replaced...

In my opinion, techincally it can be considered art, but I think something of that caliber should be in schools. I'm surprised no parents have called in complaining. After all, anything that has to do with sex is a no-no in schools, not anything that isn't briefly touched upon in Life Ed.

What do you guys think?

Do you guys have February Break this year? It used to be unheard of back in my secondary and muddle school days? I was just wondering if the board of education ever let you guys have a break.

Guys we need more people in here... this community is barely alive... i know I have sucked as a maintainter but yeah... invite your LJ friends... we need more people!

Hope to see at least 5 new LJ members in this community with in a week. Everyone get at it!

10:08AM - and the life we spent...

hey, all! sorry to nix Lana's Valentine's Day post, so if you want to check that out, just scroll down.

i was wondering if anyone knew where i could find clothes from the 1920's, or clothes that look like it. i have a project to do this Wednesday for my AP History class in which i must dress as a person from the 1920's and get interviewed. my person is Mary Pickford, which should be fun, but i need to find some clothes that she'd concievably wear.

so if you know of any place that sells 20's-esque clothes, or a place that sells the picture hats, comment here or in my LJ [dramaticpirate].

thanks for reading! i hope you have a good weekend [whats left of it, at least] & have a good Valentine's Day, whether or not you have a Valentine.

1:40PM - Hey!

OMGosh! I just really happy cause cat said she would ask joey for his number, for me. AHHHHHH! So if that's why your wondering why i am not in a depressed mood that is why.

So Ya'll what are Ya'll doin for valentine's day. I say all us single people get together and have an orgie. J/P J/P J/P!!!!!!!!!!! No offence guys but, no thanks. Bet ya got all excited there too. LOL! So valentines weekend is this weekend. If anyone would like to go out that be cool, guy or girl.... you know with the girl it would just be friends (sorry, i dont swing that way). Of course with a guy it could be just friends too. I am not really looking for anyone right now. ::your thoughts: wait didn't she just say she was happy about joey?:: Yes i did say i was happy about joey but I need someone that i can settle down with for a while. You know what i mean? I am not sure if joey is that kind of guy. So if a single guy or girl wants to go out because they hate this holiday and no will ask them out or they want to go out on a date (preferebly a guy, cause as i said i dont swing that way). Just gimmie a holler!

And if no one writes back to me i dont mind, I hope you have a happy V-DAY!
